Having become an accomplished performer, arranger, and composer of music, Tony’s reputation as a Renaissance man is preceded only by the 20+ years of work and experience he shares with those who have come in contact with him. While having performed on some of the grandest platforms in music, tv and radio, he is best known for his contributions in music education having created a progressive new education system that helps the 21st century guitar student receive a comprehensive music education; Fretscapes.
Tony’s performance and compositional style can be summed up as a blend of Blues, Jazz, Rock, Folk and Classical with the sound being a result of what Tony refers to as the New American Tradition of music. As an educator, Tony is a devoted pedagogue, and continues to write, research and innovate the way people, young or old, can learn to play guitar.
Tony holds a Bachelors Degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music and a Masters of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from Longy School of Music where he had the privilege of studying guitar with David Patterson. Tony is the Coordinator of Guitar Studies for Yamaha Corporation of America and teaches at their Corporate School in Lexington, MA. He oversees, trains and supports aspiring guitar instructors all over North America.
When he’s not too busy, Tony throughly enjoys fly fishing, being outdoors, wine and spending time with his wonderful wife, Erica, and baby daughter, Ruby.
